Thumb release (Mongolian release) is a sophisticated technique to loose an arrow, as it had been developed in a geography where the armies consisted of prefessional soldiers. They had time and motivation to master the technique to acquire some advantages on the battlefield. Teaching the technique to “weekend archers” is difficult. Becoming proficient in thumb-shooting requires hard work, patience and dedication. These footages are taken by the go-pro of Kağan Ağacıkoğlu and were edited by him, to ensure the newcomers have better understanding about how the handlock (“mandal” in Turkish) works during shooting
